I think that Palpatine would win against Vader in an open battle simply because he is the Master of the Dark Side.

dooku, palps was too old, Maul too overconfident, Vader with his strength would knock him down. But Dooku uses a fencing style, Vader would throw all his weight into a blow like he always does, and Dooku would easily parry and then step forward, no more DV. I don't think any could kill vader, but Dooku is closest.

Dooku and Maul would be crushed by Vader, and Palpy, well he'd probably get thrown down into another energy core.

I'll give you my reasons:
Maul-A Jedi Padawan killed him. A PADAWAN! Not even a real Jedi.
Dooku-Anakin will kill him in RotS he is just a Jedi Knight.
Palpitine-Palpy did kill Vader in a Dark Horse Comic. The only way Vader even through him in the pit in RotJ, was because Palpy wasn't paying attention.
End of story. Maul's a whimp, and Dooku's an old man.

Good point. But Maul killed a Jedi Master. Obi-Wan was just so angry that he charged Maul and Maul was taken off guard.

Good point. But Maul killed a Jedi Master. Obi-Wan was just so angry that he charged Maul and Maul was taken off guard. Not really, because Qui-Gon was not a master of the blade, being a Jedi from the old republic, he took on Form III, which adds the standard lightsaber training with extra blaster deflection training. Many Jedi took this form after the Sith disappeared, because it was not often that some one would incounter a foe with a saber. The third great lightsaber discipline was first developed in response to the advancement of blaster technology in the galaxy. As these weapons spread widely into the hands of evil-doers, Jedi had to develop unique means of defending themselves. Form III thus arose from "laserblast" deflection training. Over the centuries it has transcended this origin to become a highly refined expression of non-aggressive Jedi philosophy. Form III maximizes defensive protection in a style characterized by tight, efficient movements that expose minimal target area compared to the relatively open style of some of the other Forms.Darth Maul used Form II. Obi-wan used Form IV, and defeated Darth Maul because Maul, like Palpy years later, thought that victory was at hand, and therefore did not watch what he was doing. He was more of a fool at the end. Also, when Obi-wan charged with his anger, he ended up hanging on the side of a pit, but when he calmed himself, and reached for the force, he shot up, and took Qui-Gon's lightsaber in hand, and killed Maul.

After watching Palps kick arse in ep 3, if anyone it would be palps lol. But still, Vader rules, no one could take him. When someone wthinks of a sinister bad guy, they don't think maul or palps, they think Vader. He is the personification of Evil and Scaryness, and is just awesome.

I Agree...after seeing Episode III...I think Palpatine could easily beat Vader.
