Your Credit amounts are all weird, no offense, but it's totally confusing, could you explain me what mathimatics you used to scale down the prices, for example, the "real" Tie Defender is priced at 300,000 Credits per ship, they say this is "it was more than five times as expensive as a standard Tie/In fighter." and compared to our first income of 2,000 credits, it would make me/you have to join 150 times to get the amount needed for a Fully Equiped Tie Defender, or, When Katarn destroyed the Arc Hammer it cost the Empire "Billions" of credits, or perhaps, ("Mouse Droids") "Used MSE-6s can be purchased almost anywhere for as little as three hundred credits each." and of course theirs always 3 more... (at the very least), Planetary Turbolaser (KUAT DRIVE YARDS W-165 PLANETARY TURBOLASER) "...weapon's incredible cost of over ten million credits per emplacement,..." and the the second to last, Luke Skywalker's Landspeeder (SoroSuub X-34 Landspeeder) "Luke purchased the landspeeder for 2,400 credits." And the Last one... (not really the last example...) STORM (Custom-Modified Hapan Cluster Miy'til Fighter) "...more than half a million credits of refinements..." And there you have it, at least partially anyway, but it's all contraversial, i'm always on the case, but you guys/girls are welcome to discuss anything ya want, just saying that it may be unwise to differ from the "Real", "Worth" of the Star Wars Credit, Atalai Bova at your service, "Bows" Thank you for your concerns. I'm the mastermind behind the lists here. I originally compiled them from my Essential Guides last summer for use on another RP site, and here I revised and adapted them for use specifically with this RP. And at the time of pricing I was well aware of the price issues that you bring up. I priced the items with the method of credit acquisition of the site I originally did them for in mind. Even though it would be realistic to make someone save for years before being able to purchase a starfighter (like people do in real life with a car), this is not conducive to RP. I don't RP anymore, and I started RPing last summer. Since I joined the older site, it has gone down, come back up, gone down again, spawned a replacement, spawned this board, and then gone back up with no shops. RP simply does not last long enough for that to be a viable option. As a non-staff on the old site I met with resistance from the staff to make the prices as high as I was making them, actually, and I raised some of them slightly when I configured them for this site. The Turbolaser pricing actually has some memories beihind it, funny you should bring that up. After I left the older site with these lists, Nedra compiled two new ones, and a moderator of the site applied prices. I came back to visit and practically had a cow at the low prices involved. A replacement turbolaser for a certain ship costed 5 credits. This is the same price that I placed on a Glow Rod. The point is, these prices are not meant to be cononically correct; they are merely for the purpose of RP. Since the lists took me about a week's worth of solid work (and I do mean solid, like working all day) to compile and price, and I have reorganized and reformatted them on this site, I'm going to leave the prices the way they are. Other admins, I know I didn't consult with you on this, but I'm telling you, repricing the lists is just not realistic at this point; I'm sure you'll agree when you consider how much work would be involved. If you guys want to take this on, be my guest, but the amount of work involved would be unreal, I'm giving it to you straight. I utterly cannot help with it in a literal sense: I've gotten a job and am burning both ends of the candle to get my webcomic ready for its relaunch; Nedra could do it but I doubt he really wants to put that kind of crazy time in, and in truth it wouldn't be fair to the newer people since the older people would have gotten their ships for chump-change. Early on in this site a jury-rigged shop list was put up before I arrived here. purchases from those lists had to be honored even after mine went up, and this involved having some obsolete ships in action having been bought for very little. So all in all, I appreciate your concerns, and I see where you're coming from, but this method works well and has been in service for a very long time with good results. EDIT: Additionally, in regard to the specific ships you asked about, I do not currently plan to put prices on Imperial ships. It does not make sense for people to purchase Imperial ships since Imperial pilots do not own their vehicles and probably never use the same ship twice. I am trying to throw together an Imp listing right now, but the ships will probably just be "issued" to Imperials based on the military rank of the character, just like the would be in the Imperial Navy. So those prices that appear in the Essential Guide to Vehicles and Vessels wil not be an issue. Here is the old archived listing for the TIE Defender, back when I did have prices on the things: >>>>Defender---1200Power and Drive Systems ----SFS P-sz9.7---120 ----SFS P-w401 Ion Maneuvering---20each (x4) ---- Standard Class 2 Hyperdrive---300 Weapons ----SFS L-s1 Laser Cannon---80each (x2) ----Standard Ion Cannon---60each (x2) ----Standard Concussion Missile Launcher (6)---60 ----Standard Proton Torpedo Launcher (6)---60 Shields ----Novaldex---90each (x2)The SoroSuub X-34 Landspeeder...let me look it up. Ah, here we go, it's priced in The Lower Levels of Coruscant at 240 credits, which makes sense in the grand scheme of things. At the old site, which was based in the future of Star Wars, I had a My'til fighter that is customized exactly like the STORM. Its listing, taken from the archives of the old lists: >>Miy¹til Fighter---1100This is the type of ship that the beloved Prince Isolder of days past flew with pride. We have recreated his own personal customizations for his My¹til Fighter, the Storm, for general sale in a tribute to his glory. Power and Drive Systems ----Tykannin Class-4 Power Converter---150 ----Incom 6X4 Fusial Thrust---80 (x4) Weapons ----Hapan Laser Cannon---70 (x3, Fire-Linked) ----Hapan Ion Cannon---50 (x2) ----Hapan Custom Microconcussion Missile Launcher (10)---110 ----Thermal-Detonator Bombing Chute (5)---40 (x2) Shields ----Nordoxicon 38 Anticonussion-Field Generator---70 (x4) I don't believe I ever had a listing for MSE-6 droids; I guess I figured that no one would really be interested in buying the little buggers. In any event, the prices are lower than they would actually be in Star Wars, and many many things are available in the shops. There are three, but you have to find them yourself.

Question: If your character has lived on a planet their entire life, do I really need to buy the house?

Saber: Yeah I dont want to put time in it as I just got done with Church Camp and am doing a lot of things at Church and I'm also working now (Raking in it on snob Hill Mike lol). So yeah I'm ok with prices as they are, perhaps make it slightly harder by lowering money earned.
Faith: Unless you live in a cardboard box under an underpass, then yes, you must buy the home you live in.

Does SW even have underpasses since everything flies?

Does SW even have underpasses since everything flies? Sure, some planets still use 'ground cars'. Read the clone Wars novel Shatterpoint to see what I mean.

Me too. I'd like to get off Kashyyyk, but don't feel like RPing by myself enough to get the credits to be able to buy a ship.

I'm thinking about PRing by myself like crazy. The benefit is that no one is there to interfere with anything.
